Dental Bridges Near You

A dental bridge is a type of restorative dentistry treatment that’s often used to repair gaps in your smile. These devices can be used to fill a single space or a row of missing teeth.

At our Bonnyville dental clinic, we offer this treatment to patients who are looking to not only restore the functionality but the aesthetics of their teeth. If you’re interested in learning more about receiving dental bridges, don’t hesitate to call or come visit us!

What are Dental Bridges?

Dental bridges are a great option if you’re wanting to boost your oral health. They’re specifically made to fit the dimensions of your mouth and lend constant support to your teeth.

There are four types of dental bridges, and each of them is available here at our Bonnyville dental clinic. Be sure to book a consultation with your dentists prior to receiving treatment, as they’ll be able to identify which type of dental bridge is best suited to your specific case.

1. Traditional Dental Bridges.

A traditional dental bridge is composed of an artificial tooth (pontic) that is inserted into the space in between your teeth and held in place by abutments. Usually, abutments come in the form of dental crowns. When you receive a traditional dental bridge, a dental crown is placed on top of the teeth that are on either side of the gap.

This dental bridge can be installed anywhere in your mouth.

2. Maryland Dental Bridges.

This device is typically made from porcelain, composite resin, or metal and incorporates a frame that attaches to your natural teeth to stay in place. Maryland dental bridges are very durable, but they are also quite costly.

3. Cantilever Dental Bridges.

A Cantilever dental bridge is similar to a traditional dental bridge, but instead of installing abutments on both teeth on either side of the space, they only attach to one. As a result, they’re a great option when you’re needing a dental bridge to be placed on your molars.

4. Implant-supported Bridges.

This option is especially great if you’re missing multiple teeth in a row. As made clear by the name, implant-supported dental bridges use dental implants, inserted into your jawbone, to stay in place.

In comparison to the other type of dental bridges, implant-supported bridges are the most affordable.
